Marcella’s Early Days
Marcella lived In Milwaukee, Wisconsin with her young son, Tom Sanders. She felt the need for a change in her life! Marcella tells us she went to the bus station in Milwaukee, took half of her savings and said “Where will this take me?” The answer was Erie, Pa and that’s why the Maleno Family calls Erie home! She found a small, cozy efficiency apartment at the Richford Hotel at 5th and State St. This building remains today as the Richford Arms Apartment Building. She quickly found a sitter in the building for Tom and a Waitress job at Clark’s Restaurant, just 5 blocks away…an easy walk.
