The Army Days
John Maleno served in the US Army during WWII as a guard at an Italian Internment Camp. In talking about this time, he recalls this as a pleasant assignment, even playing cards with the men he guarded and becoming friends. Susan has a set of wine glasses from Italy that was a gift from one of the men he guarded. In April of 1946 he received an Honorable Discharge and returned to his home in Warren, Pa.
